Recipients of technical assistance
The recipients of the technical assistance provided under the Project’s components were selected among the fishing enterprises of the Murmansk oblast through the technical and financial evaluation and for reasons of full compliance with the objectives and aims of the Project.
The operating refrigeration system of one of the largest onshore fish-processing enterprises of the Murmansk oblast is replaced by a cascade refrigeration system, with the aim of transition from ozone-depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases used as refrigerants to natural refrigerants: ammonia (R-717) and carbon dioxide (R-744). The refrigeration system of the freezer warehouse is replaced by a cascade refrigeration system, with the aim of transition from ozone-depleting R-22 to ammonia as a primary refrigerant and carbon dioxide as a secondary refrigerant. A new production facility under construction will be fitted with a carbon dioxide refrigeration system. Read more
The Murmansk State Technical University will receive a training center to disseminate the experience of applying ozone-safe substances and technologies with low global warming potential, and train in safe and environmentally sound handling methods for natural refrigerants, ODSs and F-gases, and the legal basis regulating their use. Standard cold stores of the small onshore fish-processing enterprises will be converted to ozone- and climate-safe substances and technologies, and servicing companies will receive support in the transition to environmentally safe alternatives. Activities to reduce ODS and F-gas leakages at onboard refrigeration equipment and improve its energy efficiency will be held. Read more
An efficient ODS and F-gas recycling and destruction system will be created at one of the leading servicing enterprises that maintains and repairs onboard and onshore refrigeration equipment. Read more
