Representatives of refrigeration associations and working groups of former Soviet republics met in Moscow

In the end of February – beginning of March Moscow saw the business meeting of refrigeration associations of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Ukraine as well as working groups of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, which resulted in establishing the Interstate technical committee of associations of the RAC sector.

In November 2016, a Kishinev meeting by UNEP, UNIDO and UNDP resolved to establish the committee to cooperate on a regular basis and solve common problems related, inter alia, to training and certification of specialists, development of legal framework, adoption of new refrigerants and provision of information support.

So, the meeting participants visited the leading Russian training and manufacturing facilities and took part in Business and Education conference by Rossoyuzkholodprom.

Day 1, training centers of Rossoyuzkholodprom

On the first day they saw the principal Russian technical university, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and refrigeration training benches of its Department of Refrigeration, Cryogenics, Air-Conditioning and Life Support Systems. The visitors discussed issues of training, professional development and cooperation between educational institutions and industrial enterprises.

Day 2, Ostrov company group

At Verkont Service training center the visitors paid special attention to unique training benches designed to study and practice operation of systems based on natural refrigerants: hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide.

On the next day the delegation saw production facilities of Ostrov company group and the demo facility showing Ostrov Green Technology, developed with support of UNIDO.

Day 3, Business and Education conference at Climate World

On the third day the visitors took part in Business and Education conference held as part of the business agenda of Climate World 2017 exhibition, and discussed issues of training and certification of specialists and development of professional and educational standards.

The last day saw the session of the Interstate technical committee of associations and working groups of the RAC sector from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenia. The committee adopted documents regulating its operation, established its bodies and committees and developed a working plan. The session was visited by officials of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Moscow visit was organized by Rossoyuzkholodprom with participation of APIC, UNIDO, UNDP, UNEP, Bauman University, Verkont Service, Ostrov company group and Moscow Polytech. Read more
