Russian Government Edict: Protect the Ozone Layer and the Earth Climate got to the federal level

Protect the Ozone Layer and Earth Climate, the competition initiated by the UNIDO Centre for Industrial Development in the Russian Federation, will be conducted through Russia.

As part of holding major events specified in Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 1157 “On conducting the Year of the Environment in the Russian Federation” dated August 10, 2012,—p. 34 of the plan—the Government Edict No. 2189-p dated November 26, 2012, provides for conduction of all-Russian competition “Protect the Ozone Layer and Earth Climate” in September 2013. The competition will be held among pupils and students of schools, institutions of secondary vocational and higher education.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Education and Science, UNIDO Centre for Industrial Development in the Russian Federation are in charge of this task.

The agenda is expected to include:

  • an all-Russian competition among pupils and students of schools, institutions of secondary vocational and higher education in March-June 2013;
  • expert commission of the competition to work in July-August 2013;
  • a solemn ceremony of announcement of results of the competition and prize distribution to winners as well as celebration of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer on September 16, 2013;
  • an exhibition of winners’ works at the UNIDO headquarters in Vienna in October 2013.
