Dissemination of the lessons learned in other sectors of the Murmansk oblast, fishing industries of the Arctic zone and the Russian Federation
Background
The positive outcomes of the Project may be replicated at the enterprises of the fishing and other sectors of the Murmansk oblast, and of the fishing sectors of other Russian regions.
In the Murmansk oblast, the project outcomes may be applied at the largest enterprises, e.g. AO Murmansk Fishery Sea Port.
In the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the outcomes are welcome in the Arkhangelsk oblast accounting for 20% of the total catch in the Northern basin.
Beyond the Arctic zone, fishing and fish-processing enterprises of the Far Eastern, Northwestern, and Central Federal Districts are of considerable interest in terms of dissemination of the Project’s outcomes.
Component activities
The planned component activities are:
- identifying the sectors of the Murmansk oblast economy where ODSs and F-gases are used, to share experience;
- identifying the regions of the Arctic zone and the Russian Federation where ODSs and F-gases are used, to share experience;
- organizing dedicated workshops and conferences to disseminate the successful practices of the Project, including issues of conversion of enterprises, improvement of energy efficiency of refrigeration systems, reduction of leakages, legislation, prevention of ODS and F-gas smuggling and use, recovery, recuperation, reclamation, recirculation and disposal of ODSs and F-gases, environmentally safe technologies for refrigeration equipment, record keeping, etc.;
- developing institutional amendments to the legislation, and translating and approving standards and other regulatory documentation.
Outcomes of the Project
The following activities were carried out within the framework of this сomponent:
- Participation in the 4th international forum and exhibition of the seafood industry and technologies “Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo Russia” in September 2021;
- Participation in the 6th international forum and exhibition of the seafood industry and technologies “Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo Russia” in September 2023;
By the end of 2023, further work is planned to disseminate the experience of the project:
- Organization of a joint event with LLC FC „Polar Sea +“ in the Far East of Russia to spread the experience among the members of the NOREBO holding and other enterprises. Planned in November 2023;
- Organization of several events with the companies—members of the Russian Union of Refrigeration Industry Enterprises;
- Organization of a joint event with Murmansk Arctic University (MAU) in Murmansk to spread the outcomes of the Project and the lessons learned to other regions of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation.
