Research-to-Practice Conference in Enhancement of Reliability and Efficiency of Refrigerating and Petrochemical Equipment

On November 12–13, 2013, Ufa saw the Research-to-Practice Conference in Enhancement of Reliability and Efficiency of Refrigerating and Petrochemical Equipment. The event was organized by SRO Bashkiria Expert Association and OOO GEA Refrigeration RUS. More than 80 heads and specialists from refining and petrochemical enterprises, research institutes, food and dairy plants, enterprises of the Federal State Reserve Agency, and expert organizations of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Orenburg, and Kurgan attended the conference.
The list of the conference speakers included representatives of the Western Urals administration of the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Atomic Supervision, OOO GEA Refrigeration RUS, Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation (Moscow), OOO NPF KHhT (Perm), FGU Samotsvet plant of the Federal State Reserve Agency (Chelyabinsk), OOO Khladproekt (Ufa), ZAO Brew-House Moscow-Efes (Ufa branch), OOO Strategy NK (Ekaterinburg).
Vasily Tselikov, chief technical adviser at UNIDO, presented report “Ammonia and other natural refrigerants in terms of the chemical and technical safety of the Russian Federation. He told the conference participants about Russia’s international commitments in matters of protection of the ozone layer and prevention of adverse climate change, and about current and planned laws and regulations in this regard. Prospects and complications of adopting natural refrigerants (ammonia, hydrocarbons, and carbon dioxide) in Russia were also highlighted.
On the last day, the participants visited facilities of Ufa-located manufacturing company ZAO Brew-House Moscow-Efes where ammonia-based refrigerating installations are operated.
