EU publishes new F-gas certification proposals
May 20, 2024
The European Commission has now published its proposals for minimum certification and training requirements for engineers under the new F-gas regulation 2024/573.
The new regulation includes for the first time a need for training and certification for those working with “natural” refrigerants CO2, hydrocarbons and ammonia.
In addition to stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment, the scope of the regulation has also been extended to include organic Rankine cycles and refrigeration units of refrigerated trucks, refrigerated trailers, refrigerated light-duty vehicles and intermodal containers and train wagons
The draft proposals are now open online for industry feedback until June 10.
