24.09.2014 – Russian Federation celebrates the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

In September–October 2014, numerous events dedicated to protection of the ozone layer and climate of the Earth are held in Moscow and regions of Russia: https://www.ozoneprogram.ru/eng/events/online_exhibition_2014/ and celebration of the Ozone Day.

In October, two meetings of UNIDO-Business working group are planned, on establishment of an ODS disposal, and electronic accounting systems.

On September 24, hospitality and management college No. 23 hosted competition Protect the Ozone Layer and Earth Climate. It is remarkable that the competition was organized by students with support of college teaching staff and UNIDO specialists.

Presenters announce the beginning of the competition and introduce guests: representatives of UNIDO, Russian Energy Agency, and Moscow Education department.

What item can be without a song about protection of our planet?

In college No. 23 specialists in HVAC&R system installation and repair technicians are trained. It was established with support from UNIDO and social partners. During the competition, students learnt that leading sector unions and associations with the assistance of MNRE and UNIDO gathered to elaborate professional and educational standards, and certification system.

Zukhra Mikhailovna Galperina, deputy general director at FGBU Russian Energy Agency under the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, is an active participant of the competition. In fact, phase out of ozone-depleting substances will be supplemented by improvement of energy efficiency of refrigerating and air-conditioning systems.

While contestants prepare for their tasks, others participate in a quiz dedicated to protection of the ozone layer and Earth climate and energy efficiency of refrigerating and air-conditioning systems. Every answer was commented by UNIDO experts.

Defense is the most complicated and crucial moment because entries will be judged by leading sector experts!

UNIDO representatives award Zoya Georgievna Danilova, head master of college No. 23, “for great contribution to organization of events dedicated to environmental education of the rising generation, organization of annual celebration of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer in the Russian Federation, and creation of HVAC&R educational base in the college.”
