ICSTI sent to Rossoyuzkholodprom a draft "roadmap" for the phase-out of ODS and F-gases and proposals for the organization of a system for their destruction and recycling

September 19, 2023

The International Center for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) sent a draft regional program (roadmap) for the phase-out of ODS and F-gases in the fishing industry of the Murmansk oblast to the Russian Union of Refrigeration Industry Enterprises. In addition, reference information on the current state of affairs regarding the destruction and recycling of ODS and F-gases in the Russian Federation as of 2023 was collected and analyzed.

Both documents were prepared by experts of ICSTI during implementing the Arctic Council project „Phase Out of Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases and Ozone-Depleting Substances at Fish and Seafood Processing Enterprises of the Murmansk Oblast (Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation). Phase 2“.

The roadmap, when adopted, will consolidate the results of the Project supported by the Russian Union of Refrigeration Industry Enterprises and reduce the dependence of the regional refrigeration industry on the use of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons.

The reference information on the destruction and recycling of ODS and F-gases in the Russian Federation was prepared to assist the Scientific and Technical Council of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources in organizing a system for the destruction andor recycling of substances regulated by the Montreal Protocol on the territory of the Russian Federation.
