Workshop «Elimination of CFCs contained in aerosol metered dose inhalers MDI in the Commonwealth of Independent States»

On October 4-5, 2011, in Moscow, workshop “Elimination of CFCs contained in aerosol metered dose inhalers (MDI) in the Commonwealth of Independent States” organized by UNIDO and the Global Environment Facility took place. The topic of the event which participants were representatives of such Russian ministries and agencies as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, Federal Service on Surveillance in Healthcare and Social Development of the Russian Federation, as well as Russian and foreign manufacturers of MDI and medical equipmemnt, ministries and pharmaceutical groups of CIS countries, UNIDO international and national experts and consultants, is highly topical. When the HVAC&R industry adopts HCFCs alternatives, many other sectors of the Russian economy continue to use more ozone-dangerous HFCs. These substances posess significant ozone-depleting potential and are used in manufacture of aerosol metered dose inhalers (presurized medicaments to treat asthma, chronic pulmonary insufficiency and other diseases that affect lungs).
