02.10.2015 - Workshop “Scientific and technologies information, statistics and information: national experience and international cooperation”

On October 2, 2015, the UNIDO/GEF-MNRE Project on ozone-depleting substances, hydrofluorocarbons, phase-out in the Russian Federation was presented at Scientific and Technologies Information, Statistics and Information: National Experience and International Cooperation workshop organized as part of International Techmart Vietnam 2015 exhibition in Hanoi, Vietnam.

More than 90 educational, scientific and technological ministries, offices and agencies of Bulgaria, Egypt, Georgia, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Rumania, South Africa, Viet Nam were represented at the workshop as well as embassies of several countries accredited in Viet Nam.

The report of the Russian representatives showed practice of implementation of the Project by the International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI) as the National Executing agency. Workshop participants took great interest in information on implementation of the Project components related to transfer of ozone-safe technologies, provision of technical aid to Russian businesses of the refrigerating and foam sectors, and development of professional standards and training programmes on handling of ozone-safe refrigerants and foaming agents. Since many workshop participants represent Article 5 countries (developing), they may use the contents of the report to develop and implement their national ODS phase out programmes.
