November 2015 - Workshop “Hydrocarbon heat and refrigeration supply systems for a mini-hotel with a shop and laundry”

In November 2015, three groups of specialists were trained at the training center of Ostrov-Komplekt, Mytischy, Moscow region. The training in the form of workshops was a part of UNIDO/GEF/MNRE of Russia project “Phase out of HCFCs and Promotion of HFC-Free Energy Efficient Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Systems in the Russian Federation through Technology Transfer”. During implementation of the Project, specialists of Ostrov created a working model of a hydrocarbon system for heat and refrigeration supply of a typical mini hotel with a shop and laundry.

The workshops covered advantages of hydrocarbon refrigerants and special aspects of their use. Having familiarized with operation of the fully working model of a heat and refrigeration supply system, attendees could ascertain high energy efficiency of this hydrocarbon (propane) system.

The first group comprised the personnel of Ostrov. The second was made of representatives of Promkholod-Bryansk, Kubankholod, AKRON, and FGUP TsNIImash.

On November 25, the final workshop was attended by representatives of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, International Centre for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI), Russian Union of Refrigeration Industry (ROSSOYUSKHOLODPROM), and other participants of the refrigerating sector.

Mr. Korovin, head of Ostrov Food Retail, spoke about company and its participation in UNIDO/GEF/MNRE of Russia project “Phase out of HCFCs and Promotion of HFC-Free Energy Efficient Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Systems in the Russian Federation through Technology Transfer”.

Mr. Tselikov, ICSTI adviser on the Montreal Protocol and its implementation in the Russian Federation, addressed the international and national ozone legislation.
